SELF-AWARENESS

Returning to Your Authenticity

with Debra Littrell

Course Description

  • How often do you wonder why the same old patterns keep showing up?
  • Are you caught off guard with a health crisis you didn’t see coming?
  • Do you end up in the same kind of relationships over and over?
  • Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, somatic symptoms?

What if these symptoms and patterns are you telling you something is off and needs to be addressed or corrected?

This course is a beginning of the tools I share with my clients to assess their readiness for addressing issues they come to therapy for. It is designed to assist you in rediscovering, remembering, returning to, who you are authentically.

When we are little, we are authentically ourselves. As we go through life, we take on conditioning from our families, culture, socio-economic circumstances, media, education, and so on. We can lose track of who we really are.

When we are living from our Authenticity, our Core Stability, dealing with daily life become easier.

This core stability makes it so much less overwhelming.

What you'll learn

  • Helps you learn your own innate language and trust it.
  • Learn what is true for you.
  • Allows you to make choices from what is true for you instead of conditioning.
  • Let's you know what is going on with other people.
  • Helps you identify what is Truth vs a Lie or Limitation.

  • Become more aware of the kind of choices you make when you are aware and when you are not.
  • Do you know what is true for you?
  • Do you choose based on what is true for you, or from external expectations that may be detrimental to you?

Some things to be aware of before taking this course.

  1. If you have a significant trauma history, you may have developed dissociation as a way of managing the overwhelm. This can look and feel different to different people.
  2. If you have chronic ongoing pain, you may have developed a pattern of dissociation to protect yourself from the pain and be able to still do things.
  3. Self-Awareness helps you to be aware of all your signals. Good news and bad news. Good news you are more aware. Bad news you are more aware. In some cases, people do not recall their trauma history because of the overwhelm so when they start reconnecting memories can come forward.
  4. If this could be an issue for you it is best if you are already in psychotherapy, so you have help from your therapist to negotiate becoming more aware without being overwhelmed. There are a number of skills you can develop in psychotherapy to handle difficult things coming up.
